Pinto on FLOSS Weekly this Wednesday

I’ll be doing a live webcast about Pinto with Randal Schwartz for FLOSS Weekly. Tune in to http://live.twit.tv this Wednesday, March 27 at 08:30 (Pacific Time) to the see the show. Your can send in your questions in real-time via the #twitlive channel on irc.twit.tv. See you then!

Pinto is a powerful tool for creating custom CPAN-like repositories of Perl modules. You can fill your repository with any combination of private and public modules, and then build/test/install them using the standard tools. Since you control the repository, you’ll get exactly the same modules every time. Pinto also has some novel tools for tracking and managing changes, so you can upgrade modules with confidence and control.

Join a team and enter “Plat_Forms”….. entry deadline 7th September 2012.

“Plat_Forms” is a contest and competition in which top-class teams of three programmers compete to implement the same requirements for a web-based system within two days, using different technology platforms (e.g. Perl, Java, .NET, PHP, etc).

Perl needs teams and sponsorships to make this happen.

A team has 3 people. We can register a maximum of 4 teams.

Torsten Raudssus (Getty) is organizing the teams and the sponsorship this year, please email him getty@cpan.org or join the IRC channel #Plat_Forms on irc.perl.org

French Perl Workshop 2012: Call for Papers

May 012012

The French Perl Workshop 2012 edition will take place in the Epitech de Strasbourg, on the 29th and 30th of June.

This new location allows us to rethink the event: longer breaks (for more informal communication), space for decisions makers; we emphasize dialog, meeting, practicing and interactivity.

In order to be a success, this conference need speakers and presentations.

French is preferred, but English is fine too.

Some already registered attendees are english speakers.

The theme this year is “Meeting, Learning, Playing, Creating”.
