Foswiki 1.1.9 is available to be downloaded. This release is a security, performance and bug-fix release. It comes with more than 40 bug fixes relative to 1.1.8.

TWiki-6.0.0 has been released. TWiki is a flexible, powerful, and easy to use enterprise wiki, enterprise collaboration platform, and web application platform written in Perl.

This is a major release that has a improved new dashboard look, many usability enhancements, strengthens TWiki as an application platform, and scales to very large deployments with thousands of webs and a tens of thousands of users.

TWiki’s user base consists of millions of users on tens of thousands of installations in over 130 countries, backed by an open source community of hundreds of contributors and 60,000 twiki.org users.

There are many Perl-related videos out there on YouTube and elsewhere but some of those have very few views. Partially because they have never been properly promoted.

The new Perl TV site will feature a video every day and will link to many of the other interesting presentations and screencasts.

It’s source code and “database” is available on GitHub. Your help in collecting and categorizing the videos can help a lot.

A Perl oriented eCommerce conference will start on 8th October in Hancock, NY. Call for papers is open until Sunday (15th September), so hurry up and submit your talks. Everything Perl eCommerce related is welcome.

The conference lasts for 3 days. The first day will be Dancer eCommerce training, where you can learn how to do Perl eCommerce with dancer. The other two days will have various talks on eCommerce subjects. The evenings feature a barbecue and hanging out with other developers.

The schedule for YAPC Europe 2013 was published this morning. The conference takes place this year in Kiev, Ukraine and features three tracks of talks over three days. It all starts in just over a week, on 12th August.
