  1. I’m a non-commercial user of perl. I’ve been using the community (free) version of perl for several years for personal applications and for volunteer work that I do with a non-profit organization.

The AS community forum states “Unfortunately we don’t know [when 5.24.1 will be released] because Perl.Org still has not put out a final release for 5.24.1 and 5.22.4.” Your announcement at http://perlnews.org/2016/05/perl-5-24-released/ says it was released in May.

Please help me understand the apparent discrepancy. In particular, is it the case that the AS community version would be “their own” build and, thus, different from the version distributed by perl.org?

    Thanks,
    Phil
