Perl-based software, developed by London startup Adzuna, is powering the Dashboard at Downing Street, providing live information about the job, property and car markets.

The company is now expanding internationally to cover data for four new countries.

The site currently copes with 1.5 million visitors a month, all being served pages using the well-known templating module, Template Toolkit. The searches, aggregation and page rendering are all using Perl.

The tech team is a fan of open source and uses other tools as appropriate.

Adzuna has been mentioned in the Financial Times, BBC, Sky News and seems to be going for the industry disruption. I would keep an eye on them!

It’s great to hear about yet another growing company that uses Perl and doing so well.
